2007 Winterfest Boat Parade Celebration

Mahoney & Associates hosted the 2007 Winterfest Boat Parade Celebration at Charley’s Crab in Fort Lauderdale. Sponsored by Citrix Systems, Inc., NCCI Holdings, Inc., New York Life, Broward Health, Delta Dental Insurance Company, and Holland and Knight, the event raised more than $50,000 for Children’s Harbor.

2007 Gold Coast Fishing Classic

The Associated Builders and Contractors hosted the 11th Annual Gold Coast Fishing Classic to benefit Children’s Harbor on June 16, 2007. The tournament was a huge success raising more than $80,000 in sponsorships for the children. Men, women and children anglers participated in the event that was presented by ABC Florida East Coast Chapter, Coastal Masonry, Baker Concrete and Sprint/Nextel.

2007 Harbor Lights Ball

Gale Butler and Ginny Miller co-chaired the 2007 Harbor Lights Ball which raised more than $68,000 for Children’s Harbor. This year, the Children’s Choice Awards honored Bill Mahoney as the “Founding Father” of Children’s Harbor, and presented Mike Jackson from AutoNation with the Children’s Benefactor Award and Senator Nan Rich with the Children’s Advocate Award.

Volunteers Build a New Playground In Just One Day

What a difference a day makes! On March 22, 2007, more than 200 volunteers from The Home Depot and the community joined forces to build a stat-of-the-art ne KaBOOM! playground in just one day at the Children’s Harbor campus. This project was part of a Home Depot national initiative to build 1,000 play spaces in 1,000 days. The playground’s design was based on drawings by foster children that live on the campus.
