Linda ParkerDr. Linda Parker serves as President and CEO of Women in Distress, where she has led the organization since 2020. Dr. Ruchika GahdRuchika Gadh, D.O., is a board-certified family medicine physician and co-owner of Gadh Family Practice, serving patients throughout Plantation and the surrounding South Florida communities, including Sunrise, Davie, Weston, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami. Karyn RosenbergKaryn Rosenberg, LCSW, PMH-C, has a private psychotherapy practice where she is licensed in Florida and North Carolina. She is a trauma-trained clinician in EMDR. Dr. Laura EllickDr. Laura Ellick graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from The College of William and Mary, where she double majored in Psychology and Spanish. She then earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from St. John’s University and is now a Licensed Psychologist in New York, Florida, and Virginia. Dr. Ellick also holds a PSYPACT license, which allows her to practice telepsychology in over 40 states. Dr. Ellick currently works with individuals, couples, and families both virtually and in person in Florida. Her specialties include eating disorders, addictions, and working with those with chronic medical conditions, including cancer and autoimmune disorders. Dirk Stephens
Longtime football coach and seasoned sales pro. I’ve been mentoring high school athletes for over two decades and have seen it all—from hype to heartbreak.
Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, I’m the oldest of four brothers—all of us growing up immersed in sports. That early love for athletics set the tone for a lifelong involvement in football, both on and off the field. I began coaching in 1996, just a year after graduating high school, starting with my youngest brother’s team. Since then, I’ve coached youth and high school football for over two decades, working with players aged 12 through high school.
My coaching journey included 11 rewarding years at American Fork High School, followed by a memorable season at Lone Peak High School, where I was part of the coaching staff that won the 2011 State Championship. While coaching was a passion, sales was my profession. I’ve worked in sales most of my life, and the flexibility it offered—when goals were met—allowed me to remain on the sidelines for many years.
In 2020, my wife Jo and I took on a new challenge by purchasing Law Firm Sites, a digital marketing company specializing in web development and online services for law firms. This exciting venture eventually pulled me away from coaching full-time, but I remain actively involved with the local football program—attending games, helping with media, and supporting team websites whenever I can.

Rebecca Thompson was elected to the School Board of Broward County in November 2024 to represent District 2 which includes Pembroke Pines, Miramar, Southwest Ranches, and parts of Davie and Cooper City. With over a decade of experience in community social work and a Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University, she is the first social worker on the School Board. She has worked in various settings, including as a school social worker for Broward County schools, a residential counselor at an emergency teen shelter, and Program Director for a parenting program. Ms. Thompson is a mom to three young Broward students and a resident of Pembroke Pines. She is dedicated to improving the district’s mental health system, supporting schools, and providing A-rated services to students and families.
Mike HernandezVice Mayor Hernández has over 20 years of experience in the fields of Communication and Public Affairs. He has spent parts of his career working as a senior executive in government and as a c-suite consultant in the private and non-profit sectors. For four years, Hernández was the Director of Communications for Miami-Dade County government and Senior Advisor to its mayor. In that role, Hernandez led communication efforts for Miami International Airport and Port Miami, as well as the water & sewer and emergency management departments. He was the mayor’s only official spokesperson and chief communications officer for the 25-department government and managed crises such as the impact of Hurricane Irma and the outbreak of the Zika virus. From 2019-2024, he appeared on NBC 6 and Telemundo 51 as the political analyst for both stations, providing commentary and information on the political process in Washington, D.C., Tallahassee, and South Florida for viewers in English and Spanish. Stephanie ParkerStephanie Parker serves as president of South Florida’s Condo-HOA Division. Stephanie joined FirstService Residential as vice president of strategy and operations in the South region in 2014. She then served as vice president of operations at a national level, with the oversight and efficient execution of major company initiatives, including the customer experience, process improvement, property operations and national procurement. Stephanie re-joined the South region in 2022 as the president of South Florida’s Condo-HOA Division, overseeing operations and growth initiatives for condominium and HOA communities in Southwest Florida and along the eastern coast from Miami to Vero Beach.
Stephanie has a robust 20-year background in working with leadership teams to improve operations, execute strategic company initiatives and elevate overall performance. They have fostered over 30 children and have a teenage daughter who they adopted from foster care. Dr. Brandy Pidermann, DSW, LCSW-QSDr. Brandy Pidermann is a licensed psychotherapist, clinical social worker, and the founder of Changing Tides Therapy. She has over a decade of experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families, specializing in mental health, emotional resilience, and family dynamics.
In addition to her private practice, she leads a clinical team overseeing a therapeutic program for foster care youth, ensuring underserved teens receive the structure, support, and interventions they need to thrive. She has also taught clinical social work courses at Florida Atlantic University, helping train the next generation of mental health professionals.
Her work extends beyond direct practice—she has contributed to youth mental health research, particularly in suicide prevention, and has developed programs supporting families, schools, and healthcare systems.
